General admission, grandstand or hospitality?

A practical way to choose between general admission, a grandstand and hospitality, before you compare prices.

Days and budget

Decide who is coming, which days you want, and your total ticket budget. For a group, agree whether a reserved seat matters before comparing offers. Leave room in the trip budget for transport and accommodation; ticket prices do not include them unless the seller explicitly says so.

General admission

General admission usually offers standing or roaming areas instead of an assigned seat. It can suit fans who want to explore, but views, cover and access vary by circuit. Check the organiser’s information for the specific area rather than relying on the category name.

Grandstand seating

Look beyond the stand name. Check the view, whether seating is numbered, access to a screen and whether the stand is covered. Two tickets in the same grandstand need not be adjacent. Get the seller’s seating-together policy before paying.

Hospitality packages

Hospitality is a broad label. Compare the exact lounge, food and drink service, ticket days, track view and any extra activities. Do not assume a package includes a hotel, paddock access or pit-lane access unless each is listed.

Comparing tickets

Choose two or three options. Compare the same days and currency, and record any details still to be confirmed. The cheapest advertised price is not necessarily the cheapest ticket that meets your needs.
